A lot of great music from the 2000s appeals to young people and classic rock fans. The Red Knots are putting people on the dance floor while others are singing from their seats.

As is the model for all the bands in the Highland Troupe, the Red Knots don’t seek to have any particular style. The variety of sounds and quality of the composition of the music is what we try to capture to please as many in the audience area as possible.

If your event includes young adults as well as adults, you can count on everyone having a great time listening to the Red Knots.

*Red Knots are a species of Sandpipers with annual migrations up to 9000 miles.

Silas took up playing bass after starting the Highland Troupe in 2021. His musical instrument career started in college at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he attended on a Track Scholarship. He and some of his classmates began playing bluegrass and early American dance music. This resulted in him learning to play guitar, mandolin, and banjo. Silas has been a singer since the second grade, and after moving to Colorado, he has sung with the Colorado Springs Chorale and is a supporting member of the Pikes Peak Opera League.

Bobby Swift

Bobby Swift

Vocalist

Diagnosed with Autism at the age of two, Bobby’s physicians said he could possibly have a non-verbal life. When his family discovered he had a knack for music, they went all in for Bobby’s budding talents. Since then, he has sung in choirs, rock bands, musicals, jazz groups, and has flourished since. He is as exceptional as he is humble. If it were not for the power of music, he would not be as extraordinary as he is today.
